Sound Like (No. 19)

Sound Like is a series sound work that consists of a series of wearable sound sculptures and interactive installation sculptures. Often constructed with everyday objects such as funnel and hand basin, It diverts sounds to the participants’ ears offering them a singular experience listening either closely to themselves or the surrounding environment.

Sound Like 19 is an interactive sound interactive installation. Constructed mainly with tubular hollow cylinders (pipe) with support of metal structures, it allows the park users conformably standing in the middle of the installation and talking to themselves. The audience’s own voice will pass through the hollow interconnected cylinders and divert back to his/her own ears with 0.4 seconds delay.  In this process of sound traveling, the interactive installation offers the participants a singular experience listening closely to themselves.
